The East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is one of three fire departments serving the Town of Farmington, located on the East Side of Farmington at 94 South Road abutting Interstate 84.
Our fire district runs roughly from the West Hartford town-line to the east, New Britain town-line to the south, Avon town-line to the north, and Farmington Ave, and Colt Hwy to the west. The district is a mix of both residential and commercial properties. Some notable landmarks that lie within our district are the UCONN Health Center, Interstate 84, Route 9, West Farms Mall, and many more.
East Farms Station houses three apparatus – Engine Tanker 9, Engine 10 and Medic 11, along with two water rescue boats – an Avon Boat and an aluminum V-Bottom Boat.

We are a combination department of Volunteer and Career Firefighters / EMTs.
Our current membership at East Farms Station includes approximately 45 Volunteer Firefighters – 8 of whom are ranking line officers and 4 of whom are social officers who oversee the East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, Incorporated.

Three Career Firefighters from IAFF Local 3103 staff East Farms Station Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
In 2007, the East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. responded to 1,175 calls for assistance, which was up from the prior year by 4.2%.
We respond to many types’ emergency calls, including but not limited to, Fire, Medical, Hazardous Materials, Motor Vehicle Accidents, and Water Rescues.
More than that though, each of our members – volunteer and career – attends and participates in rigorous training, maintaining the highest standards of qualification and certification. When we’re not training or responding to emergencies, we’re giving back to the community in other ways such as – conducting Fire Prevention Education Programs, sponsoring local Farmington Youth Baseball Programs, chem-free school dances, the Farmington Food Pantry, and more. |
