Our training is extensive, thorough, rigorous, and in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Our initial basic training consists of over 130 hours to attain Firefighter I certification and another 180 hours to attain Emergency Medical Technician certification. We train every Tuesday night with additional weekend drills.
We try to offer training in the Town of Farmington when possible. When it’s not, Firefighters might attend training in surrounding towns, at the State of Connecticut Fire Academy or at the National Fire Academy. Our training varies on the subject matter required and the skills desired.
Below are schedules of available training opportunities for our membership.
